Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman was elected as a member of the Parliamentary Board of the IMF and the World Bank.
140 countries around the world are members of the Parliamentary Network on the IMF and the World Bank.
The Parliamentary Network formulates recommendations for reforms related to poverty alleviation and economic stability.
Senator Faisal Saleem from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became a member of the upper house in March 2021 and his term ends in March 2027.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed demanded general amnesty to Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf(PTI) founder Imran Khan and other political prisoners.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed while speaking in the session chaired by Acting Chairman Senate Mirza Afridi said that PTI founder should be released, he is a political prisoner, amnesty should be given to him.
PML-N Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed also said that PTI has the right to get reserved seats.
