The option to upload 60-second videos on WhatsApp Status is exclusive to the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, version 2.24.7.6.

The popular messaging app WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is said to be developing a highly requested feature: 60-second status updates. This extension of the status update duration was discovered by WABetaInfo in the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for Android.

You can now upload 60-second status updates on WhatsApp.

After completing the testing phase and beta versions, the improved feature will be rolled out widely in a stable form, becoming available to all WhatsApp users.

As of now, the option to upload longer videos on WhatsApp Status is exclusively available on the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, version 2.24.7.6, accessible to users who have enrolled in the beta program for the messaging app. \

The upcoming feature would effectively double the video length users can upload compared to the current 30-second limit for status updates on WhatsApp. As it is still under inspection and not yet officially launched, those interested in using it will need to install the latest beta version of WhatsApp.

Additionally, another anticipated feature for WhatsApp users in India is the QR Code Scanner Shortcut for UPI Payments. This feature will enable users to easily make online payments with just a few taps.

Users will no longer need to navigate to the “Scan payment QR code” option in WhatsApp’s settings. Instead, they will have direct access to the feature from the main screen header of the app.
