PM Shahbaz announces 150 buses for Karachi
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s recent announcement during his inaugural visit to Karachi signals a substantial boost to the city’s public transportation. He pledged the provision of 150 buses, a decision that emerged after a notable meeting prompted by Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh’s Transport Minister, who initially sought 300 buses.
Although Memon’s request was for a larger number, the Prime Minister’s confirmation of 150 buses from the federal government remains a significant step. These buses will integrate into the current fleet managed by Sindh’s transport department, improving accessibility and connectivity for commuters.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif also commended the Sindh government’s ongoing efforts to enhance public transportation services, highlighting the collaborative approach between federal and provincial authorities. This move underscores a shared commitment to elevate Karachi’s commuting experience, addressing the city’s growing transportation needs and fostering greater convenience for its residents. With this pledge, the government aims to alleviate transportation challenges and contribute positively to Karachi’s urban infrastructure development.
