Rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night, Saturday and Sunday. Irregular rains will likely provide much needed break to the people from the usual heat wave.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), mainland air conquers over most parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave will likely enter western parts of the country on Friday evening/night). It will likely grasp upper parts on Saturday.

Under the effect of this weather system, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in the twin cities and at isolated places in north Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday evening/night and the following two days. Gusty/dust-raising winds are likely in central and southern parts of the country.

Irregular rains will help fetching the temperatures to the normal levels during the weekend. Till today, day temperatures were 03-05 degrees Celsius above normal levels in Islamabad, Lahore and parts of Pakistan.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 36-38°C on Friday and 35-37°C on Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 36-38°C on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, heatwave persisted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and most parts of the country during the last 24 hours. Nawabshah and Dadu endured the hottest places in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C.

In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 41 percent.

In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative moisture during the morning was recorded at 39 percent.
