Brazilian fashion influencer and social media personality Ediér Mendes Dutra Júnior, popularly known as Júnior Dutra, has tragically passed away following serious complications linked to a cosmetic procedure designed to create the “fox eyes” look.
The procedure, performed earlier this year by well-known surgeon Dr. Fernando Garbi, aimed to lift the outer corners of the eyes to create a sleek, almond-shaped effect often referred to as “fox eyes” or “cat eyes.” However, the results proved to be far from desirable.
Soon after the surgery, Dutra began experiencing visible swelling, bruising, and severe discomfort. He later shared his ordeal through a series of emotional videos that gained widespread attention online.
In media interviews, Dutra revealed that he had developed a painful infection and was under the care of a dermatologist. He also filed an official complaint against the surgeon with São Paulo police, alleging gross medical negligence, fraud, and physical harm.
Sources close to the matter revealed that Dutra’s health began to deteriorate rapidly, and he was eventually hospitalized after experiencing serious respiratory distress. Despite medical intervention, he could not recover.
While the official cause of death has yet to be publicly confirmed, preliminary reports suggest it was closely related to post-operative complications from the infection.
Aside from being a prominent social media figure with over 120,000 Instagram followers, Júnior Dutra was also a trained architect and stylist, known for his bold fashion statements and trendsetting aesthetic.
His sudden death has sparked renewed discussion about the dangers of cosmetic surgeries and the need for greater regulation and accountability in the beauty industry.
