Princess Diana remembered on 22nd death anniversary

Princess of Wales, Lady Diana is being remembered on her 22nd death anniversary.

Diana Frances Spencer was born on 1 July 1961, in Park House, Sandringham, Norfolk. She was celebrated in the media for her unconventional approach to charity work.

Diana came to prominence in 1981 upon her engagement to Prince Charles, eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II. Thousands attended her wedding with Charles, Prince of Wales.

She is the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry.

Diana’s marriage to Charles, however, suffered due to their incompatibility and extramarital affairs.

The couple separated in 1992, soon after the breakdown of their relationship became public knowledge. But their divorce didn’t affect Diana’s fame as she was an international beauty icon.

On 31 August 1997, Diana, Princess of Wales died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a car crash in the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in Paris, France.
