Fareed Ayaz & Abu Muhammad Qawwali to take place in Canada

Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad Qawaali are back after an exciting performance at the Small World Music Festival in September.

Qawwali, also known as “the path of the heart,” expresses the fervent devotion of the great Sufi mystics.

The music begins with a meditative rhythm of chants, melodies, and percussion that draws the audience in. The rhythm gradually builds up to ecstatic peaks that transport both musicians and listeners closer to the divine.

Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad, the lead singers, weave together devotional and secular traditions for a transcendent evening of music, accompanied by chorus singers and percussionists.

It is presented by Small World Music and in association with The Tawoos Initiative.
