Various infectious diseases are on the rise in the metropolitan city.

Around 12,000 people have been reported to have affected by Diarrhea and pneumonia in last 10 days.

Dirt and contaminated water have caused many types of diarrheal diseases and hepatitis. Which have affected hundreds of children in just three weeks.

According to the details, 12,000 children have been diagnosed with diarrhea, pneumonia and several infectious diseases in past 10 days.

300% increase in the diseases has been observed after Eid festive and the rain spells in the city.

More than 2,000 children have been taken into the emergency of civil hospital in 10 days.

Whereas, 2,889 children were admitted to the National Institute of Child Health Karachi.

Moreover, 2,800 children in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, 1,400 in Liyari General Hospital and more than 1,500 children were admitted in Sindh Government Children Hospital.

According to the head of National Institute of Child Health Dr. Jamal Raza, 150 cases are being reported per day after Eid-ul-Adha and rain.

Such diseases take rise after rains, but the dirt and garbage crisis has boosted the effect of Diarrhea and Gastro in children, Dr. Jamal stated.
