The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday approved Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s bail petition on medical grounds.

According to the details, a two-member bench headed by Justice Ali Baqar Najafi conducted the hearing and the bail is approved against two surety bonds worth Rs 10 million.

PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had moved the LHC for elder brother’s bail in Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.

Shehbaz Sharif was present in the court as the proceedings resumed after a break.

Earlier today, the Lahore High Court had directed Dr. Mahmood Ayaz – head of Medical Board treating former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif – to submit fresh medical report at 12:30 PM.

Dr. Mahmood Ayaz had maintained that medical tests of Nawaz Sharif are conducted at 11:00 AM daily.

He told that the PML-N leader is suffering from diabetes and gout along with heart and liver diseases.

“Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician Doctor Adnan has also been included in the six-member medical board that examines the PML-N supremo at 09:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 04:00 PM every day.

Platelets are not yet stable; therefore, we have to give steroids to Nawaz Sharif. The medication needs to be stopped as the disease has not been fully diagnosed. Platelets are being destroyed owing to some disorder.

Bone marrow was functioning normally when the last test was carried out. A fresh examination is required at the moment but we cannot inject needle in his bone.

Earlier, Government allowed Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam to stay with her ailing father, Nawaz Sharif, in Services hospital.

According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Punjab government to allow Maryam Nawaz to stay with father.

The Premier has also issued a directive to fulfill the legal requirements for Maryam’s transfer from jail to hospital.

Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar said that he had a talk with Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding the health of Nawaz Sharif, in which Imran Khan gave clear instructions that all health facilities should be provided to the former Prime Minister.
