DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said, the army has not any role in Azadi March.

According to the details Director-General of Inter Services Public Relations Asif Ghafoor said, Maulana Fazl Ur Rehman is a senior politician and a patriotic Pakistani but his march is a political activity and the army has no concern with this.

Asif Ghafoor said, the army plays its part with in the constitution, Army has no role in the elections.

Army is called for security only and it also follows government orders, Asif Ghafoor added.

The DG ISPR said, whatever statement he gave, he did it so in the capacity of the representative of the armed forces.

“Maybe in politics it happens that people give their personal opinions but I’m the DG ISPR and whatever statement I make, I do so as the DG ISPR,” he added.

On the question about Kartarpur Corridor DG ISPR responded,

“It is a one-way corridor, Sikh pilgrims from India can only come from there to Pakistan. Pilgrims cannot move an inch outside it,” Asif Ghafoor added

The DG ISPR said, Pakistan would handle all the security affairs of the corridor.
