Two separate First Information Reports (FIRs) were registered against more than 200 lawyers who attacked Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore on Wednesday.

As per details, the two FIRs, one each on behalf of police and doctors, were registered at the Shadman Police Station.

Sections of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATC) and vandalizing public and private property were made part of the FIRs.

According to the FIRs, the lawyers were allegedly involved in torturing police officials, aerial firing and setting a police vehicle on fire.

The lawyers, who attacked Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore, to observe province-wide strike against arrest of their colleagues, BOL News reported.

The lawyers on the call of Punjab Bar Council observing strike over the arrest of their colleagues.

The lawyers have decided to protest if their colleagues were not released.

According to sources, more than 30 protesting lawyers were arrested by the police with the help of CCTV footage.

Meanwhile, the Grand Health Alliance has announced to observe three-day mourning.

The doctors will perform their duties in the emergency wards wearing black bands.

Yesterday, a violent clash between doctors and lawyers has intensified as a rally attended by hundreds of lawyers stormed Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore.

Six patients were died after the protest turned violent.

The dispute left four people injured when the lawyers broke windows of the emergency ward and several vehicles parked nearby.

The paramedics and physicians were seen making attempts to run out of the hospital premises in order to save their lives.

Police at first exchanged harsh words to clear out the dispute.

Later, as the police appeared helpless in resisting the charged lawyers, resorted to tear-gas shelling to disperse them.

Moreover, the lawyers who attacked PIC also tortured information and culture minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan as he reached the spot to settle down the ongoing dispute.

The lawyers grabbed Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan and subjected him to violence.

Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan was taken from his head and was beaten by the lawyers.

His videos of getting tortured and violence spread like a fire on social media platforms and TV channels.

Talking to the reporters, Chohan said: “An attempt was made for his abduction,” He said “strict action would be taken against the lawyers who did all this.”

While talking to Media, Chohan said that he has arrived in PIC hospital to temper down the tensed situation but was brutally tortured and beaten by some people.

He also said that they also attempted to kidnap him. The minister said he was there to resolve the issue but the lawyers misbehaved with him which was very shameful.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had also taken notice of violent lawyers’ attack and summoned detailed report from Punjab Chief Secretary (CS) Azam Suleiman Khan and Inspector General Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastagir.
