The proposal of a one-way fare of Rs 40 is decided for Orange Line Train.
According to the details, after agreeing to the proposal for a one-way rent of Rs 40, a final decision in this regard will be made after the approval of Chief Minister Punjab Usman Bazdar.
According to sources, a meeting was held regarding the Orange Line train fares chaired by the Chief Minister, Usman Bazdar, in which Orange Train Authority officials suggested that the fare be kept at Rs 30 to Rs 40, depending on the financial difficulties of the citizens.
The Punjab government, on the basis of the government budget and subsidy, suggested that at least unilateral rent should be fixed at Rs 50, on the other hand, the finance department said that it could not provide much subsidy on the project.
Treasury officials said that if the rent was raised to Rs 40, then the annual subsidy of Rs 6 billion would have to be paid. After consulting, unilateral rent was fixed at Rs 40 per person.
Secretary Finance Punjab Abdullah Sunbal said that important suggestions regarding subsidy and fixing of tickets on orange train have come up but the final decision on fare will be made by the Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar.
