Pakistan Post has successfully delivered pensions of 1.3 million retired government employees at their doorstep amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed stated that the decision was taken after Prime Minister Imran Khan issued special directives to minimize unnecessary public gatherings around the country.

The Minister said that Pakistan Post took the initiative to deliver pensions to retired government employees at their doorsteps to ensure that the elderly stay at home and remain safe amid the global coronavirus pandemic.
He said that mostly pensioners were using public transport and used to wait in long queues to get their pensions, adding that government was taking care of elders and will not put them at risk amid coronavirus outbreak.
The United Nations also lauded Pakistan Post’s move, prominently publicized on the World Postal Union’s Twitter account.
