Eid-ul-fitr 2020: Mufti Muneeb chairing meeting to sight Eid moon

A meeting of the Ruet Hilal Committee is underway in Karachi to sight the Shawwal moon.

Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman, Central Chairman of the Committee is chairing the meeting in which an important announcement will be made whether the Eid moon will appear or not.

According to astronomers and meteorologists, it is unlikely that the Shawwal moon will appear in the country on Saturday. Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to take place on Monday, May 25.

On the other hand, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has announced that Eid will be celebrated on Sunday and the moon will be visible today.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri has said that the final decision of Eid will be made by the scholars of central Ruet-e-Hilal committee on the basis of testimonies.
