Punjab government has made the use of face coverings mandatory at all public places, during travel, and during business activities.

The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD), under the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Ordinance, 2020, enforced measures to control the spread of contagious coronavirus in Punjab.

The notification was issued for the general public on Saturday.

The P&SHD, in the exercise of powers conferred under Section 4 & 5 of the Punjab Infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Ordinance 2020, directed, after approval of the Chief Minister, “All citizens in the province of Punjab shall use face covering at all public places, during travel and conduct of any business, private or official.

“No services shall be provided in any sort of government or private establishment/ facility to anyone who is not using face covering.

The order shall be implemented with immediate effect in force in Punjab till further orders.

“Deputy commissioners of respective districts shall ensure compliance of this order under Section 22 of the Ordinance Ibid.”
