Provincial government of Sindh has extended business timings of cattle markets set up in Karachi for Eid Ul Adha.
The Sindh government has followed the decision taken in yesterday National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) meeting for extension in timings of the Maweshi mandis of the province.
As per the notification, the cattle market will be allowed to do business from 7 am morning to 11 pm night.
According to a notification issued by the provincial home ministry, the step has been taken to facilitate the citizens and the traders.
Earlier due to complaints of violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) devised to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, and over crowding; government of sindh have ordered to close Karachi’s maweshi mandi by 7 pm.
However, visitors are demanding to extend mandi timings so they can buy the sacrificial animals as per their conveniences.
On 24th July, The National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) decided to launch a crackdown against illegal cattle markets across the country.
Ahead of Eid Ul Adha, the NCOC decided to take action against the cattle markets, which are illegally setup in the country.
This move has been taken to ensure implementation of the SOPs in the cattle markets and to ensure health of the masses.
