The total number of positive novel coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 243,594 after new infection reported in the country in past 24 hours.
New Cases and Tests
2,775 new cases were detected after 23,255 tests were conducted in the previous 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre.
Province wise cases distribution
100,898 cases have been detected in Sindh so far, 85,261 in Punjab, 29,406 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,099 in Balochistan, 13, 829 in Islamabad, 1,485 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,616 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Under treatment
89,449 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment while 149,092 patients have recuperated from the disease. 15,148,58 tests conducted across the country so far.
Pakistanis stranded in India return home
As many as 75 more Pakistanis, who remained stranded in India due to COVID-19 pandemic, have returned home on Thursday.
Overall 500 Pakistanis stuck in India brought back since the novel coronavirus hit the two countries, forcing travel restrictions on both sides of the border.
15-day smart lockdown in Punjab
Seven cities of Punjab province will undergo a 15-day smart lockdown that will commence from today (Friday) and last till July 15.
The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) issued a notification under the Punjab Infectious Diseases Ordinance 2020 about enforcement of lockdown in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat and Rawalpindi, till July 24, 2020 midnight.
In provincial capital city Lahore, the lockdown will enforced in A2 Block Township, EME Society, Main Bazaar Chungi Amr Sadhu, Punjab Government Servants Housing Scheme, Wapda Town, C-Block Jauhar Town and Green City.
There will be a complete ban on gatherings of all kinds for social, religious, or any other purpose at any place, public or private throughout these areas.
