Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan has said that security is being provided to the woman and her family, who was allegedly tortured by her son in Rawalpindi.
Speaking to a private TV channel, Fayyaz Chohan said that the incident happened in his election constituency and he knows the woman, who was subjected to torture.
Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chohan said that raids are being conducted for the arrest of the accused and his wife in the case. “Though the accused has availed bail before arrest, but we will try to get it cancelled.”
The beaten mother on Wednesday had narrated the unfortunate incident and claimed that her daughter-in-law had intoxicated her son.
Earlier, The video of a mother being tortured by her son went viral, sparking outrage among the people and after the issue was raised on social media, the police registered a case and initiated the action.
When the video went viral, the authorities took notice and on the orders of Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Division, Sadiqabad Police Station SHO Tahir Ahmad Rehan registered a case against the victim, Gulnaz Bibi.
The woman underwent a medical examination immediately after the case was registered, hospital sources said an X-ray report would be provided to police a week later.
Gulnaz Bibi, a resident of Dhok Ali Akbar said that her son Arsalan and daughter-in-law Bisma used to fight with them every day and the previous day, both the husband and wife tortured her after bitter words.
SP Rawal Division Rai Mazhar, he said that after taking notice of CPO Rawalpindi Ahsan Younis, a case has been registered and the woman has been given medical treatment and investigation has been started.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar also took notice of the incident and demanded a report from RPO Rawalpindi.
