The UN Security Council condemned the attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange and called for the perpetrators of terrorism to be brought to justice.
The Security Council expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs and the Government of Pakistan.
The statement of the world body said Terrorism is a serious threat to international peace and security.
Council members have called on all states to co-operate with Pakistan under the Security Council resolutions.
It may be recalled that on June 29, 2020, a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi was foiled and the security forces killed all four attackers. Hand grenades, water bottles, food items and modern weapons were found in the attackers’ bags.
6 persons including a sub-inspector were martyred by the terrorists including 4 security guards and a civilian.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had termed the attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange as a conspiracy of India and said that even before this our agencies had foiled four plots.
