During a press conference, PML-N Leaders Including Former Prime minister Khaqan Abbasi expressed their displeasure with the government, its policies, and behavior.

The PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif stated that the government is involved in “unparalleled propaganda against the PML-N”.

Shehbaz Sharif along with other senior members of the opposition, including former Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi, former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, and former Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif held the press conference in the provincial capital of Punjab. The panel blatantly bashed the current government on their lack of ability to govern.

Khaqan Abbasi mentioned his displeasure with the absence of the Prime Minister during the National Assembly session as he stated,

“The House was insulted by calling an unelected and hired advisor. How can this advisor make allegations against the Leader of the Opposition? The Prime Minister is not present in the House because of his words. We do not like the Prime Minister’s seat to be vacant. But all of this is happening because of him.”

While concluding the press conference, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the flaws of the government by saying,

“In two years, the [rising] inflation has brought people to the brink of disaster. First, sugar was exported and the gains from depreciation in the rupee were availed. Farmers were punished and the exporters made billions.”

Talking about the sugar and wheat prices in Pakistan, Shariff expressed,

“The price of sugar has gone above Rs100 [a kilo]. Now, sugar is being imported! For the first time in history, there was a shortage of wheat even before the harvest season ended. A member of the government asked on the floor of the House where the wheat had gone!”

Following the criticism of the government, the opposition leaders then turned their attention towards the ongoing corruption charges on various PML-N leaders including Former Premier Nawaz Sharif.
