A sessions court in Gujranwala on Friday granted interim bail to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader retired Captain Muhammad Safdar Awan in a sedition case.

According to the details, he appeared before the Additional Sessions judge Arshad Mahmood, who approved his bail plea over surety bonds worth Rs 50,000.

An FIR was registered against retired Captain Muhammad Safdar Awan and a PML-N MPA, Imran Khalid Butt, at a police station in Gujranwala’s Satellite Town.

As per FIR, Captain (retd) Safdar Awan had threatened to topple the government through protests and allegedly provoked people against the state and its institutions.

Let it be known that the PML-N leader is on bail in the NAB office attack case till October 12.

NAB Office Clash

It should be noted that a clash had broken out between the PML-N activists and police on August 11th, during Maryam Nawaz’s appearance before the NAB office.

Maryam Nawaz’s bulletproof vehicle’s glass was broken after a stone hit it while the police had taken action and arrested the PML-N activists.

Later PML-N central vice president Maryam Nawaz said that Imran Khan’s only goal now is to put pressure on the opposition and catch the people.
