Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended greetings on the 551st birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev here on Monday (today).

In his video message via Twitter, PM Imran has wished the entire Sikh community on Baba Guru Nanak’s birthday. He said as a Muslim we respect the religious rights of all Sikhs because we also have huge respect for our religion Islam.

Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur has the same religious value for Sikhs as Makka and Madina for the Muslim community, the premier said.

The Prime Minister vowed to protect the Holy sites of the Sikhs and added that we have also revamped the Hasan Abdal Railway Station to avoid any inconvenience for the Sikh Yatrees.

We have provided all possible facilities at the upgraded Railway Station so that the Yatrees feel easy to travel there, added PM Imran.

The Prime Minister went on to add that it is our government’s keen responsibility to protect all religious sites belonging to every religion, whether it is Christianity or Hinduism.

He made it clear that his government is committed to preserve and protect holy sites of all religions and places relating to Buddhism as well as the Gandhara civilization.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan had inaugurated the Hassan Abdal Railway Station, constructed at a cost of Rs300 million.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Prime Minister said, “Railways are important because it’s a commute for the poor and common people of Pakistan.”

He also said the role of railways in the Naya Pakistan journey was crucial. Trains are a cheap and comfortable method to travel throughout the world

Referring to the Karachi-Peshawar Railway Line, PM Imran said, “For the first time, the biggest investment to Pakistan Railways is coming through the ML1” or the Main Line.

Facilities At Hassan Abdal Railway Station

Furthermore, briefing more about the newly-inaugurated railway station, Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed said guest houses for Sikh pilgrims have also been constructed at Hassan Abdal railway station.

A canteen and a cafe were set up near the waiting area, he added.

The Nankana Sahib railway station project will also be completed this month, said Rasheed.
