Punjab’s Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Secretary Jawad Rafique Malik chaired an emergency meeting to review the status of coronavirus cases in Lahore.

As per the details, the situation regarding the surge in coronavirus cases in Lahore has been discussed in the meeting. In addition to this, health authorities have been given directives to immediately operationalize 300 high-dependency beds for serious patients at the Expo Center.

Secretary Specialized Healthcare Nabil Awan said that the Health Department has issued directions to medical superintendents of Services, Jinnah, and General hospitals to operationalize the high-dependency units (HDUs) and intensive care units (ICUs) at the same emergency level as these were functioning in June 2020.

Earlier on Friday, Dr. Yasmin Rashid tweeted that Lahore’s Covid-19 positive has increased from 3% to 10%.
