Punjab health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has on Wednesday (today) said that educational institutes may close again if Coronavirus SOPs will not be followed properly.

According to the details, classes for 9th, 10th and intermediate have been resumed on January 18th. However, students of pre-primary and classes from 6 to 8 will be called to attend the school from the last week of this month.

Yasmin Rashid also confirmed that schools from across the country might get closed again if COVID-19 SOPs not followed properly.

She showed her serious concerns over Punjab province especially Lahore where the virus crisis is not taken seriously and cases were increasing day by day.

Furthermore, through her tweet, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that Pakistan is trying to bring the COVID vaccine soon. She said that all the actions have now been taken to ensure vaccine availability in Pakistan.

Previously, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed to expedite the supply of covid-19 vaccines across the country.

At a meeting of the cabinet committee on Coronavirus, vaccines were held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

At the meeting, the committee members said that the emergency use of two vaccines has been approved in the last few days and steps are being fast-tracked for the approval of more vaccines. Committee members added that steps are being taken to procure two approved vaccines. Vaccines will be delivered in the first quarter of this year.

The Prime Minister directed the Cabinet Committee to expedite the steps taken for procurement and supply of approved vaccines.
