Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that joint investments leading to profitable businesses can reduce poverty both in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
According to the details, Prime Minister Imran Khan was addressing to the Pakistan-Sri Lanka joint ‘Trade and Investment Conference’.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Advisor on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood are also present in the conference. The conference is aimed at promoting trade and investment between the two countries.

While addressing the event, Imran Khan said that Pakistan and Sri Lanka have been affected by terrorism. It has also affected tourism in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
Imran Khan added that ‘My main goal in politics is to end poverty in Pakistan.”
Imran Khan added that Pakistan can play a role in bridging the growing gap between the United States and China.
Speaking on the Kashmir Matter, the Prime Minister said that the Kashmir issue can only be resolved through dialogue. The solution to problems is not in war, but in dialogue.
Earlier Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan is standing side by side with Sri Lanka as partner for the development of human resources, security cooperation, fighting terrorism, development and prosperity.
In his statement, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has transformed its geo-political priorities into geo-economic priorities.
He said during the visit we exchanged views on enhancement of bilateral trade and investment with Sri Lanka.
The Foreign Minister said defence and security cooperation to end the menace of terrorism are of equal importance to both Pakistan and Sri Lanka and we have offered that country a credit line of fifteen million dollars in this regard.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we have decided to give one hundred scholarships to Sri Lankan students in top medical institutes of Pakistan.
