PM Imran Khan Formally Launches COVID Vaccination In Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan has officially launched the COVID vaccination campaign in Pakistan, saying that the vaccine will be given to medical personnel first.

Launching the COVID Vaccine Campaign in Islamabad, PM Imran said that the vaccine was being distributed in a transparent manner in all the provinces.

Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Special Assistant for Health Dr Faisal, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Social Security Dr Sania Nishtar were also present at the launch of the Corona Vaccination Campaign.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that he congratulated his entire team, including China, who worked hard.

He said, “500,000 vaccines have been received from China”.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed that ” at first the COVID vaccine will be given to the medical staff”.

“In the second phase, the vaccine will be given to those who are most at risk of coronavirus,” he said.

Imran Khan said that the distribution of vaccines in all the provinces will be fair, no one should think that we have distributed more vaccines in any one province.

“It is very important for you to get vaccinated because the risk is highest for medical personnel,” he told the medical staff.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said, “I would urge you to follow the SOPs related to COVID-19 and especially to ensure the use of masks.”

He said that the number of COVID-19 cases was gradually declining and that was why schools were reopened and other institutions would be reopened in the next phase.

“The more we take precautions, the better it will be,” he said.

The Prime Minister said that “Coronavirus-related restrictions are still in place in the services sector but the economy is almost functional”.

Citing other European and Western countries, he said the death toll from the pandemic was in the millions.

He said that Allah has shown mercy to Pakistan more than other countries and we should be thankful for it.

It may be recalled that on February 1, the first consignment of Coronavirus vaccine arrived in Pakistan from China, which was received by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

The first shipment of Coronavirus vaccine donated by China arrived at Noor Khan Airbase on the afternoon of February 1.

On this occasion, the Foreign Minister had revealed that China and Pakistan had jointly started experiments on a vaccine, trials were being held here which have been completed, the vaccine under the name of Kansaino, China and Pakistan are moving forward together. And its initial reports are encouraging, if we succeed in it, it will be encouraging news for the people of Pakistan and the front line doctors.

Dr Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Health, thanked China and said that the first consignment of COD-19 vaccine had reached Pakistan from China.

He said that China has donated 500,000 doses, first of all, frontline health care workers will be vaccinated, more than 400,000 health workers have applied for the vaccine.

The NCOC will act as a nerve centre throughout the vaccination campaign and core centres have also been set up at the provincial, district and tehsil levels for vaccination.

The entire vaccination process will work with the National Immunization Management System with minimal human intervention, and the vaccination process will begin nationwide on February 3.

Procedures

Step 1: All citizens, including frontline healthcare workers, will send their National Identity Card number via SMS to 1166 or use the National Immunization Management System website for registration.

Step 2: After verification, the designated Adult Vaccine Center and PIN code based on the current address will be sent to the citizens via SMS.

Step 3: If the designated AVC is outside the existing tehsil of the citizen, the citizen can change his AVC by calling the NIMS web portal or 1166 helpline within 5 days of receiving the SMS.

Step 4: Citizens will be sent an SMS before the appointment date on the availability of vaccine at the designated vaccine centre.

Step 5: After successful registration, citizens will come to AVC on the due date and time with their ID card and received PIN code (mandatory).

Step 6: Vaccine staff at AVC will verify ID cards and PIN codes.

Step 7: After verification, the citizens will be vaccinated and the administration will enter the details in the NIMS and a confirmation message will be sent to the citizen via SMS. In addition, the citizen will be monitored for 30 minutes after the vaccination. You have to be there.

Step 8: This procedure will automatically generate a real-time dashboard for the federal, provincial and district health departments.
