Islamabad, Beijing Celebrating 70th Anniversary Of Pak-China Diplomatic Ties

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi formally inaugurated the celebrations in Islamabad and Beijing on Tuesday to mark the 70th anniversary of Pak-China diplomatic relations.

The virtual event was held simultaneously in Islamabad and Beijing and was attended by top officials of both countries.

Speaking on the occasion, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we pay tribute to the Chinese leadership which has created wonderful employment opportunities to change the destiny and lives of its people.

“We believe that the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping has truly embodied the aspirations of the Chinese people on this historic occasion,” he said.

The Foreign Minister said that the leaders and people of previous generations of Pakistan and China have played a valuable role in strengthening these ties.

He also reiterated that the CPEC project would be transformed into High-Quality Demonstration Project of Belt and Road Initiative.

Talking to media later in Islamabad, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that China would provide another 500,000 vaccines to Pakistan against coronavirus. He said that the two countries would jointly deal with the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has released a special documentary on the occasion of the completion of 70 years of a long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China.

The short video highlights various aspects of Pak-China friendship that are higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the seas and sweeter than honey.
