The 10th Board of Directors of the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) met in Islamabad under the chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar.

The meeting reviewed the working paper and presentation of the Sialkot Kharian Motorway Project of the National Highway Authority (69 km long 04 lanes) proposed on the basis of blood, operate and transfer under the Public-Private Partnership Program of the Federal Government.

Planning Minister Asad Omar said the successful implementation of the project would strengthen the national public-private partnership program and pave the way for more private partnership transactions in the future.

He directed the NHA and P3A to continue their cooperation to make the project a success.

Asad Umar said that there is ample potential to move ahead in public-private partnership projects which the government should take advantage of. After detailed discussions, the Board approved the Sialkot Kharian Motorway project and also approved the application for commercial, financial feasibility study, transaction procedures and proposal package.
