Umar Sharif appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan for help, saying “doctors have told me I should go abroad for better treatment”.

“I was lucky enough to help build Imran Khan’s Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital,” he added.

“Doctors have told me I can get better treatment in the United States,” Umar said.

While addressing directly Prime Minister Imran Khan, Umar Sharif said, “Whenever you have called me for anything, I have always been there for you, which is why I believe that you will also be there for me.”

However, the video statement from Umar Sharif did not provide details about his illness, nor did the host of the show.

Wasim Badami said that doctors say that he needs treatment in 15 to 20 days and the cure for his disease is available in only 3 countries in the world, the United States, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

Dr Shahbaz Gill, Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan also spoke in the program and said that he felt sad after seeing Umar Sharif in such a state.

The SAMP also assured that all efforts will be made to ensure the comedian receives the treatment he needs.

The Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan explained that Germany and Saudia Arabia will be better options for treatment due to the fact that the two countries are closer to Pakistan.

Shahbaz Gill stated that government will contact the German and Saudi embassies in Pakistan, the benefit of which will be that these two countries are closer and that government may be able to do things faster.

“We will try with the US also, whichever country can facilitate our request,” Gill added
