Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas has announced that all public and private schools in the province will remain closed till September 15 due to increasing COVID-19 cases.
The Education Minister took to Twitter and wrote, “All Public and Private Schools of Punjab to remain closed until Wednesday, September 15th, 2021. Stay home and stay safe.”

A notification issued by the NCOC yesterday said that it has been decided to extend the Coronavirus restrictions and keep the educational institutions closed till September 15.
The notification said that educational institutions in 24 sensitive districts affected by Coronavirus would remain closed till Wednesday, September 15.
Inter-city transport and indoor, outdoor gatherings were already banned by the NCOC.
On the Other hand, Pakistan has administered at least one dose of anti-Covid jabs to 5 crore people while more than 2 crores are fully vaccinated.
Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and NCOC chairman Asad Umar said in a Tweet on Friday, “In the early days of the vaccination campaign we had set a daunting target of vaccinating 7 crore people by the end of this year. Happy to report that 5 crore people have now received at least 1 dose. More than 2 crore fully vaccinated. Inshallah will meet & surpass the target.”
The Coronavirus situation in Pakistan is intensifying, with 83 deaths recorded in one day and more than 3,600 cases reported.
The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) has released the latest statistics on the Coronavirus situation in the country, stating that 83 people died in 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 26,497.
The NCOC said 61,128 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, of which 3,689 were tested positive and the positivity rate stood at 6.03%.
According to statistics, the number of cases in Sindh has reached 441,410, in Punjab 4,08,758, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 1,66,564 and in Balochistan 32,480, while in Islamabad the number of cases of the coronavirus has reached 100,000. 840, 33,037 cases have been reported in Azad Kashmir and 10,109 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
