Lahore: Punjab govt to suspend mobile phone service across the province in regards to the security situation due to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s long march tomorrow (May 25).

PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan confirmed to procced with the long march tomorrow and the government has decided to seal the Red Zone in the capital city to clog it.

 

After confirmation of the rally, the government has sealed the Red Zone of Islamabad by placing containers ahead of the long march. The Punjab government has decided to block mobile phone Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards in different districts of Punjab including Lahore.

This major decision was made after yesterday’s crackdown by Punjab Police, though the official notification will be issued soon after the final approval of the Chief Minister of Punjab Hamza Shehbaz.

 

On the other hand, Punjab Police launched a crackdown on (PTI) leaders ahead of the long march. According to the details, Punjab police have conducted raids in different cities to arrest PTI workers and leaders including Lahore, Rajanpur, Khanewal, and other areas.

A crackdown resulted in the arrest of PTI leaders Abid Sukhera, Wajid Sukhera and Imran Sattar, Saif ur Rehman, and Atta Ullah Khan. After the whole crackdown incident, PTI Chairman Imran khan condemns the crackdown on PTI leaders and activists.

However, the Punjab government on Tuesday also imposed Section 144 for the next 30 days in a bid to counter PTI’s protest march all over the province starting from tomorrow May 25.
