ISLAMABAD: Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) on Thursday lifted the ban from Pakistan. The decision has opened up opportunities for the Pakistani national team to play international games and major cup qualifiers.
According to the details, the leagues in Pakistan that were not formally certified by FIFA are being given the green light. The FIFA Normalization Committee (NC) will make progress toward the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) elections. Due to control of the Ashfaq faction on the PFF, the international football association banned football in Pakistan.
Haroon Malik, Chairman of the Normalization Committee (NC), praised FIFA’s decision to postpone Pakistan’s ban on football. He told BOL News that the Pakistani football community deserved this joy. “The NC’s tireless labor and the prayers of the football family resulted in this verdict in our favor,” Haroon Malik remarked.
“FIFA has also extended the NC’s mandate by one year,” he said. The committee chairman maintained that the top priority for further better delivery will be to restore football leagues, set up new elections for PFF, and return the assets to Pakistan.
