KARACHI: The metropolitan city received its first spell of pre-monsoon rain yesterday that turned the weather pleasant for the citizens who took a whiff of fresh years after braving the scorching weather for many days.
As the thunderstorm rained down on the city, worst traffic jams were reported from different parts of Karachi and 4 deaths were recorded.
As per reports pouring in from different areas, Nazimabad received the highest rainfall of 38mm yesterday.

The Meteorological Department predicts drizzle or light rain this evening in the city while the first spell of monsoon will enter Sindh via Tharparkar from June 30.
The weather will remain hot and humid today with air humidity around 55% in Karachi. Today’s maximum temperature is expected to be 35 degrees Celsius.
Sea breezes are still suspended in the city and the locals will be enjoying a partly cloudy day today.
Earlier, the rain that hit Karachi last night lasted for an hour at least. Strong winds were reported at Superhighway, Shahrai-e-Faisal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Saddar, Liaquatabad, II Chundrigar Road, Malir and other areas.
Soon after the downpour, several areas of Karachi were deprived of electricity and as per sources, Gulshan-e- Maymar area of the city’s power supply is still suspended even after 12 hours of cut.
