Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s son Muhammad Junaid Safdar has graduated with a degree in law from the renowned Cambridge University.

His grandson and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was present at the graduation ceremony. His wife Ayesha Saifur Rehman was also present on the occasion

Maryam Nawaz also shared the good news on her Twitter handle. “All glory to Allah. I would like to share the good news with you all. May Allah make all Pakistani youth successful,” she said.

In December last year, Junaid Safdar had week-long festivities in Lahore. In August, he tied the knot with with Ayesha Saif Khan at The Lanesborough, an elite five-star hotel in Knightsbridge.

In January 2020, Junaid Safdar received his master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE).

He awarded the master’s degree upon the completion of a full-time 12 month course at the prestigious university’s International Relations Department.

His parents were able to attend the graduation ceremony at the LSE as both Maryam and Captain Safdar were placed on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Nawaz Sharif was in London for his treatment but was unable to attend the ceremony due to a medical appointment on the same day as the graduation event.

Junaid has also done a master’s in Global Governance and Ethics from the University College London (UCL). The graduation ceremony was to take place in the summer of 2019 but he had deferred it back then as both his parents and grandfather were in jail.

Prior to the UCL, Junaid had graduated from Durham university with a first class honours in politics. Junaid represented many university polo teams including annual Inter-Varsity Polo Tournament held in China which at UCL.

He has represented Pakistani university teams in various tournaments across the UK. He enrolled as a master’s degree student at the LSE in November 2018.
