QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took an aerial visit of flood affected areas of Balochistan and viewed damages caused by recent monsoon rains.

The prime minister directed the authorities concerned to immediately set up a medical camp and supply medicines in the affected villages.

He asked the authorities for the provision of two more boats immediately to speed up the relief operations and ration in the affected villages.

Shehbaz Sharif also visited Jhal Magsi and interacted with flood-affected people in Shambani. He directed to accelerate relief activities and provide food and other relief items to the affected families.

The prime minister directed to ensure availability of veterinary doctors for animals as well.

On the directive of the PM, the Balochistan chief secretary dispatched teams in affected areas to expedite relief activities.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif also visited Jacobabad where he was briefed about relief activities in flood-affected areas.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb in a tweet on Saturday stated that Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lieutenant General Akhtar Nawaz and Chief Secretary Balochistan briefed the prime minister.

Later, the Prime Minister left for Jhal Magsi to visit flood and rain affected areas.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) personnel and helicopter fleet are actively engaged in providing humanitarian assistance and disaster relief support to the people stranded in flash floods affected areas of Balochistan.

According to the PAF spokesperson, on the special instructions of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, PAF helicopters have distributed 4,200 kilograms ration comprising flour, ghee, sugar, lentils and tea in the calamity hit areas during the last two days.

Additionally, several families have been evacuated from land locked areas to safer place.

Relief operation in Balochistan is a practical manifestation of the Pakistan Air Force’s resolve to extend all out support to fellow countrymen in the hour of need.
