Weather Update: Karachi to receive light rain today

KARACHI:: Karachi is expected to receive light to moderate amounts of rainfall on Saturday as the third spell of monsoon subsides.

In its weather forecast for Karachi, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the minimum temperature recorded was 27.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is likely to be recorded 35 degrees Celsius

The air humidity was recorded at 75%, south-west winds will be blowing at 22 km/h. The weather will remain partly cloudy, light rain is likely in the morning and evening hours. However, it noted that heavy rain is not likely till August 10 when the fourth spell of monsoon will reach the city.

The Met Office has forecast more rain-wind and thundershower in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north and eastern Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. during the next twelve hours.

However, isolated heavy falls are likely in Kashmir, upper Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and north Balochistan.

Temperature of some major cities recorded this morning: Islamabad and Peshawar 25°C , Lahore 26°C, Karachi and Gilgit 27°C, Quetta 21°C, Murree 17°C and Muzaffarabad 23 degree centigrade.

According to Met Office, forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cloudy weather with chances of rain-wind-thundershower is expected in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramula.
