Pakistan Army continues relief operation in Rajanpur: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Army troops have reached Rajanpur district of southern Punjab and started relief operations, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The military’s press wing said the people trapped in the flood water are being safely evacuated. Food and rations are being provided by the army.

The army is also providing medical assistance at Field Hospital and Medical Mobile Teams in Rajanpur. The flood control room said Pakistan Army has rescued over 8,000 people in the area.

Pakistan’s Armed Forces have continued rescue and relief operations in flood-hit parts of districts Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.

Pakistan army teams have rescued a number of people stranded in affected areas including women and children along with their belongings and shifted them to safer places. People living in relief camps are being provided with cooked food and dry ration.

The ISPR said Pakistan Army is utilizing all available resources in helping the flood-affected people and its medical camps set up by army medical corps are equipped with all necessary facilities.

Furthermore, an army helicopter has reached Rajanpur and the disrupted relief operation has resumed in several inaccessible areas.

The helicopter is being used to deliver food items. It must be mentioned that the deputy commissioner had requested a helicopter from the PDMA for relief operations.
