LAHORE: Following the denotification of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Pervaiz Elahi, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders popped up in support of him and labelled the move unconstitutional.

Pertinently, Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman has denotified Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi late in the light yesterday and a notification has been issued in this regard.

PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry promptly responded to the development and said that the denotification announced by the Governor has no legal status and the CM along with the provincial cabinet will continue to perform their duties.

“A reference against the Governor will be sent to the President and proceedings are being initiated to remove him from office,” he added.

Moreover, PTI leader and spokesperson of CM Punjab Musarrat Cheema said that the Governor played with the constitution and make a mockery of the law by issuing a notification at midnight.
