LAHORE: Minister for Railways and Aviation Khawaja Saad Rafique on Sunday called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore.
During the meeting, issues pertaining to the ministry of railways and aviation division came under discussion. They also discussed the overall political situation of the country.
Later while addressing PML-N workers, the federal minister said that bringing Imran Khan into power was a huge mistake.
“The experiment of bringing Imran Khan to power has failed,” he said, adding it was unfortunate that the use of foul language became a common practice in politics.
While taking a jibe at the PTI Chairman, the PML-N stalwart said the provincial assemblies will not be dissolved in the whims on anyone.
“We did not protest even when we were thrown away into jail. You (PTI) are in four provincial governments. Run the government and serve the people,” he said, adding that PTI should return back to the National Assembly if they want to negotiate.
He further said that the assemblies are made to run the state, not to be broken over petty issues and shall not be dissolved. “It is our job to teach politics now. The assembly will not be broken, it will function,” he exclaimed.
Khawaja Saad said holding sit-ins and raising slogans will not work. He emphasized that Imran Khan should focus on serving the public instead of lying.
He said the Chief Minister Punjab should seek vote of confidence in order to maintain the decorum. He said they will have to take practical steps to get the country out of trouble
