KARACHI: Slamming the soaring street crimes in the metropolitan city, President Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman announced to hold protest in the city today.
Protests against street crimes have been announced at 20 places in the city.
Addressing a presser here he said that the crime rate has been increasing rapidly on the graph adding that there have been 10 times more incidents of mobile snatching in the city than the number of cases that were registered.
While shedding light on the miseries of Karachiites, he said that the citizens have to buy basic facilities like health and education.
“The residents of Karachi are braving the worst transportation system,” he added.
He further said that Karachi pays the highest tax and exports 45%, but what has the city done that the federal government is not giving any plan to?
Hafiz Naeem also said that the load shedding of gas has added insult to the injuries of the citizens in winter.
Pouring scorn on PPP, he said that the party has been ruling the city for the last 30 years and has brought the city to a bottleneck.
He also demanded timely local government elections and asked that the ECP is responsible to deploy army and rangers for security during the polls.
