ECP should accept objection against Mohsin Naqvi: Ali Zafar

LAHORE: Senior leader Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Barrister Syed Ali Zafar has said that the parliamentary committee has objected to the name of candidate of PMLN for caretaker chief minister of Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi.

“Now the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will have to accept the objections that are against Mohsin Naqvi,” he said.

Talking to the media at Zaman Park, Barrister Ali Zafar said that it is the responsibility of the election commission to take into account the qualifications of the caretaker chief cinister.

“As the Chief Minister should be impartial and free from political affiliation. If the ECP takes this into account, there will be no need to challenge this in the court. But if all these things are not followed, we may approach the court,” he said.

Ali Zafar also talked about the resignations of their party members from the National Assembly and said, “It’s a simple matter whether all the resignations should be approved or all should not. Accepting some resignations and not accepting others is a double standard.”

Inside scoop of PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami meeting. The meeting was held to decide which party will have their person as the mayor of Karachi. Tehreek-e-Insaf did not give any adequate answer to Hafiz Naeem for mayor ship. PTI claimed to win more seats, they also claimed to have more seats in media talks. The support for which Jamaat-e-Islami went to PTI could not be obtained. A two-person committee was formed to recognize each other’s mandate.
