Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi chapter Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that they had been deprived of their won seats in Karachi’s local government elections.
He further said that despite the rigging, the JI had won 94 seats, adding that the Election Commission of Pakistan had ordered recounting on 6 Chairmanship seats.
He said this while addressing a press conference in Karachi on Wednesday.
He claimed that the ROs had refused to give the candidates Form-XI and Form-XII, adding that the PPP was winning the seats through recounting. Despite the passage of three days, the complete results could not have been announced. He blamed that the results were being changed in different areas of the metropolis.
The Karachi chapter JI chief said that it was their success that the ECP had ordered recounting in six UCs, adding that the Sindh government was getting the ROs change the results.
The Hafiz said that the JI had worked for the development of Karachi that was why the Karachiites voted for it.
He asserted that if the free and fair elections had been held, the JI would have got two-third majority.
He said that the JI had raised the voice on the issue of constituencies.
