KARACHI: The results of the LG polls that took place in several districts of Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad are still pending even after passage of over 20 hours to the conclusion of the voting process which has been giving birth to the doubts on the transparency and fairness in the electoral process.

The Election Commission continues to receive the results of the second phase of the Sindh Local Government Elections and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is in leading position so far.

Election Commission has received the results of 95 seats of Chairman/Vice Chairman from Karachi.

As per unofficial and unverified results, 51 candidates of People’s Party remained successful on the seats of Chairman/Vice Chairman followed by PTI with 21 candidates successful on the seats of chairman/vice chairman.

Meanwhile, 19 candidates of Jamaat-e-Islami were successful on the seats.

In the East and South districts of Karachi, the Pakistan People’s Party grabbed 15 each seats. In Kemari, PPP emerged victorious on 18 UCs and in Malir it was declared the winner on 21 seats, as per unofficial and unconfirmed results.

PPP remained victorious in both Karachi and Hyderabad, PPP candidates have bagged the highest number of votes so far. They are winning 480 seats in both cities.

The PPP has secured 54 seats in Karachi, 44 in Hyderabad, 81 in Badin, 59 in Jamshoro, 21 in Tando Mohammad Khan, 61 in Dadu, 35 in Matyari, 62 in Sajawal and 63 in Thatta.
