Release Fawad Chaudhry: Overseas Pakistanis protest in NYC Times Square
As part of a demonstration led by the PTI USA chapter, overseas Pakistanis hoisted the slogan “release Fawad Chaudhry” in New York’s famous Times Square, BOL News reported.
The reports claim that PTI supporters and Overseas Pakistanis gathered in Times Square for a demonstration where they expressed their concern for the democracy and civil rights situation in Pakistan.
The demonstrators showed support for PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan and demanded fast free and fair elections. They also requested Fawad Chaudhry, a key PTI leader, be freed.
The overseas PTI protestors expressed their voices in opposition to Pakistan’s violations of fundamental rights as well as in support of Fawad Chaudhry and Imran Khan.

The latest arrest of Fawad Chaudhry has brought Pakistan’s political unrest to new heights. Following a speech last week in which he criticized the Pakistan Election Commission, Fawad Chaudhry was detained outside his home in Lahore in the early hours of Wednesday. Fawad Chaudhry attempted to “incite violence against a constitutional institution” and “inflame the passions of the people,” according to Islamabad police.
The nation as a whole condemned the detention of Fawad Chaudhry after images of him being taken by police while wearing a towel over his head and having his hands in shackles went viral. The PML-N and other PTI’s political adversaries denounced the arrest and raised concern about how Fawad Chaudhry was being treated.
Similar to this, the claimed plot to kill Imran Khan by PPP Co-Chairman and former President Asif Ali Zardari has PTI fans in a frenzy.
Earlier, Imran Khan claimed that Asif Ali Zardari was involved in a plot to “get rid of him.” He stated that following “two” failed attempts on his life, the four individuals, along with the PPP leader, had now devised “Plan C” to end his life.
