LAHORE: The Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), a coalition partner of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Punjab said Monday that the party won’t give a vote to Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Pervaiz Elahi.
The party spokesperson said that the decision was taken after consulting the senior leadership of MWM. He was of the view that the party has some reservations over decisions taken by CM Punjab.
Notably, CM Punjab Elahi is likely to take the vote of confidence next week.
MWM, however, made it clear that they have been standing in support of Imran Khan.
Pertinently, PTI has decided that Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will seek a vote of confidence before the provincial assembly is dissolved.
It must be mentioned that a session of the Punjab Assembly has been summoned on 11 January 2023. The PTI has also instructed all MPAs who are currently abroad to return home.
The date for receiving the vote of confidence has not been confirmed. However, it has been decided that a PTI delegation will visit the residence of CM Punjab to finalize the date.
