ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police registered a case of vandalism at the Judicial Complex of the Islamabad High Court during an appearance by PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

A case was registered at Ramna police station under Section 353 of Pakistan Penal Code (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), Section 7 of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and other provisions.

The complaint said Kalashnikovs and other weapons were taken into custody from the crowd. It said an attempt was made to attack the judicial complex and the high court under a plan.

Police said 25 people have been arrested while raids are being conducted to apprehend others. Police teams have been dispatched to various provinces to make arrests.

The complaint said political party leaders were leading mobs who incited people to harm and vandalize the public property and damaged in the judicial complex.

Former Prime Minister Imrran Khan appeared at the judicial complex in Sector G-11 to secure bail in two cases. Security arrangements at were disrupted a large number of people were present on the occasion.

The party activists reportedly removed all barriers during their chairman’s appearances in court. On the occasion, some workers stormed the building and created a commotion.

Earlier Islamabad Police issued orders to book PTI chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders for allegedly vandalizing the judicial complex.

The initial report has been presented to Inspector-General Islamabad claimed PTI chief Imran Khan and others including Murad Saeed, Ali Nawaz Awan and 32 others.

The police chief was briefed that CCTV camera was broken and police personnel were pushed back by the PTI workers. Police officers said arrests should be made after registering the FIR.

Earlier today, a local court in Islamabad issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. The former prime minister secured interim bail in two different cases — the prohibited funding and terror cases — after he arrived at the judicial complex in Islamabad.
