ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Zardari on Monday said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was ready to contact all the political parties. He said a committee would be formed to contact all the parties.
There are rumours that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) wants consensus among all the parties on the deal with it so that the next government does not avoid implementing the agreement as the general elections will be held within few months.
In a statement, Bilawal Zardari said the country was going through a social and economical crisis. All of us should move forward in the parliament in agreement, he added. “All the parties should be united on one agenda. The crisis we are experiencing is a tough test,” he said adding that Pakistan never underwent such a difficult test in the history.
He said the country suffered loss because of wrong decisions. Pointing towards the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), he said they said they could talk to the terrorists, but they could not talk to their colleagues in the parliament. He said they should decide that all the parties could remain in the political arena. The good decisions would benefit the country and people, he said.
The foreign minister said development and protection of the country lied in supremacy of the constitution. The people would get their rights, if the country was run as per the constitution, he added.
Bilawal Zardari said the powerful was forced to go to the poor after the 1973 Constitution. Violation of the constitution inflicted damage upon the country, he said adding that rights of the people of Pakistan were protected in the constitution.
