GB CM requests thorough investigation into Kohistan incident
The Harbin, Kohistan car-bus collision is the subject of a fact-finding investigation that Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Khalid Khurshid has mandated.
The chief minister has started an investigation into the February 8 traffic accident that resulted in at least 30 fatalities and 15 injuries.
To investigate the sad event, Commissioner Gilgit Division has been chosen as the inquiry officer.
After completing a thorough investigation into the road accident, Khalid Khurshid instructed the inquiry team to provide a report within ten days.
The inquiry report must contain a detailed analysis of cars that are prone to accidents as well as other elements that lead to such unfortunate mishaps, according to the chief minister’s directive. He also requested suggestions on how to avoid similar terrible incidents in the future.
A passenger bus and an automobile collided on the Karakoram Highway in the Kohistan province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, causing them to both fall into a steep ravine.
The passenger bus was traveling from Gilgit to Rawalpindi when it crashed head-on with the car traveling in the opposite direction in the Shitial region of the province, according to the local police.
President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed his condolences for the deaths caused by the bus tragedy in Diamer.
He sympathized with the grieving families and conveyed his sorrow over the unfortunate incident’s fatalities.
In addition to expressing his profound sorrow and grief, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also lamented the horrific bus accident that claimed lives close to Chillas, Gilgit Baltistan.
He sent his sympathies to the grieving families and wished the deceased a peaceful rest.
The prime minister ordered that all accessible medical facilities be made available to anyone who had been hurt.
