Saudi Ambassador remembers King Shah Faisal visit to Radio Station in Karachi

• Saudi Ambassador shared glimpses from historical visit of former Saudi King to the Radio Station in Karachi
• The iconic Shah Faisal Mosque of Islamabad is also named after the Saudi King
• Today is the World Radio Day

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al Malki on the occasion of World Radio Day shared a few glimpses of the historic visit of the late Shah Faisal former king of Saudi Arabia in May 1955.

Saudi Ambassador while taking it to Twitter wrote that he remembers the day when Saudi King Shah Faisal visited the Radio Station in Karachi.

The iconic Shah Faisal Mosque of Islamabad is also named after the same Saudi Arabian king.

World Radio Day is being observed today (February 13) to highlight the importance of radio as a key medium of educating people, providing information and promoting freedom of expression across cultures. The theme for this year’s World Radio Day is ‘Radio and Peace’.

Radio is an important source of mass communication in the present era, which remains vital during war, peace, catastrophe and pandemic.
