ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia has announced another major relief program for Pakistan under the auspices of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.

The country, which is at the forefront of disaster relief in Pakistan, has launched a project to provide shelter items in winter relief bags to the most vulnerable families affected by the floods in Pakistan.

At the beginning of this initiative, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, the head of Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority, Lt. Gen. Inam Haider Malik and other officials attended the embassy of Saudi Arabia.

This project will provide 15,000 bags weighing 190 tons. These will include basic shelter supplies that will be distributed to the eight affected areas. About 175,000 people or 15,000 families will benefit from this assistance.

Ambassador Al Malki said that this project went continued the assistance provided by the kingdom to Pakistan since the beginning of the flood disaster last year.
